The location of the crash is on Mynydd-Y-Glog at approximately 340m.

The aircraft crashed during air gunnery practise, and crashed when attempting to land after mechanical failure. The single pilot on board survived unhurt.

The Mustang KH499, assigned to 112 squadron took off on the 7 September 1945 on gunnery practise. Due to mechanical failure the pilot P/O Arund attempted to land the plane, which crashed and burst into flames on Mynydd Y Glog.

P/O Arund survived unhurt.

Only small bits of wreckage remain and are difficult to find.
